REFORC connects academics and has done so enthusiastically and fruitfully for the past sixteen years. That this results in the joy of seeing people and places was clearly visible on the last day of #REFORC2026.
The last day the conference ended with the bonus of a variety of excursions through the beauty of Wroclaw and its impressive collections of art and its rich history. There was a lot of materiality in lectures and in powerpoints, but at least just as much in shaking hands and giving a hug for a welcome or a goodbye, in enjoying great catering, seeing a beautiful city, touching, presenting and buying attractive books, and of hearing and seeing each other’s emotions of spontaneous laughter and serious thinking.
After a final round of shortpaper sessions and the thought-provoking keynote of Birgit Meyer, it was time to thank the Wroclaw-team for how they made us feel at home and took care of us in a great variety of ways. REFORC moves on to Zurich, another place where next year people can get excited about a place full of history and full of academia.
However, for the coming weeks and months we will first enjoy good memories of #REFORC 2026.
