Following the editions of the synods of Anjou-Touraine-Maine and of Burgundy, this volume presents the acts of the synods of Orléanais-Berry (1561–1682), supplemented by acts of colloquy assemblies, of the Orléans consistory, and of the provincial synod of 1779.
Beyond making these unpublished sources available, the edition sheds light on these Reformed institutions: their organization, their relations with Catholics and the authorities, ecclesiastical Discipline, theological controversies, and the role of pastors and elders. A dictionary of the province’s pastors is provided as an appendix.
