LECTIO, KU Leuven Institute for the Study and Transmission of Texts, Ideas and Images in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, invites applications for its Visiting Program 2024–2025.
The programme supports a research stay of 4–6 weeks in Leuven (or Turnhout). All fellowships cover accommodation and travel costs but are non-stipendiary.
There will be five positions funded in 2024–2025:
• Two (open) LECTIO Visiting Fellowships
• One joint LECTIO & DigiSoc Visiting Fellowship
• One joint LECTIO & Special Collections Visiting Fellowship
• One joint LECTIO & Brepols Publishers Visiting Fellowship
The different types of Visiting Fellowships are described in this document. Please specify in your application for which of these positions you would like to be considered (applications for multiple positions are possible). In addition to the funded fellowships, LECTIO also invites applications from scholars who would like to spend a research stay in Leuven with their own research funding (‘self-supporting’: see p. 6).
In some cases, applicants who were not selected in the main round may be eligible for funding through individual research projects led by LECTIO-members. For this purpose, applications may be shared with relevant researchers outside of the immediate selection committee. If you wish to opt out of this for any reason, please communicate it to us when applying.
