Luther und die frühneuzeitliche Auslegung der Abrahamerzählung

26 February 2025

Volume 23 in the series Historia Hermeneutica. Series Studia, by Constantin Cremer.

The character and story of Abraham, as recounted in the first Book of Moses (Genesis), are considered some of the most important parts of the Bible. Abraham takes center stage in the three major monotheistic world religions – as a forefather and model of faith. This volume analyzes theological aspects of Early Modern interpretations of the story of Abraham on the basis of Luther’s Lectures on Genesis (1535–45).
