We congratulate Riccarda Suitner (University of Rome Sapienza) for winning the prestigious Premio Desiderio Pirovano 2024 Prize for her book Venice and the Radical Reformation. Italian Anabaptism and Antitrinitarianism in European Context, published in our R5AS series by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht.
The book was considered the best book in the field of the history of Christianity.
As the Board of Directors of the Prize stated: “This is an important recognition of a work that rigorously and originally explores Venice’s role in the radical religious movements of the modern age, offering a European perspective on Italian Anabaptism and antitrinitarianism.
The award ceremony will take place on the afternoon of November 11, during an international seminar at which a volume in honor of Maurilio Guasco, former president of the Prize’s Board of Directors, will also be presented. On that occasion, the call for entries for the new 2025 edition will also be announced.”
