REFORC Paper Award 2024 Goes to Mirjam Wulff

16 July 2024

Mirjam Wulff (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) won the REFORC Paper Award 2024 for her paper The Apocalypsis Nova – Reform Theology on the Eve of the Reformation, presented in Palermo in May of this year.

Many good submissions had been received, but the committee decided that Mirjam Wulff was most deserving of the award. The paper was presented at the Thirteenth Annual REFORC Conference on Early Modern Christianity, May 14-16, 2024 in Palermo.

In her paper, she addresses the book called Apocalypsis Nova, supposedly written by the Franciscan Amadeus Mendez da Silva (ca. 1420-1482).  According to Wulff, the book offers an ideal case study for the widely disseminated and complex discourses about church reform around 1500.

The award comes with a prize of 500 euros and inclusion of her article in the Journal of Early Modern Christianity. An interview with the award winner is being prepared so we can learn more about her research.

Congratulations to Mirjam!
