Studies of Early Modern Christianity in Central Europe

Since its start in 2010 REFORC has – in close cooperation with institutions and scholars in Central and Eastern Europe – supported and initiated projects with a focus on the Reformation in the eastern parts of Europe.

One result of this series of projects is a new book series as the first academic series solely devoted to Early Modern Christianity in Central Europe. Publications in the series Studies of Early Modern Christianity in Central Europe will explore the long, complex and fascinating history of Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Baltic States, Ukraine, Balkans) which has recently gained more interest than ever. It will challenge the idea that the Protestant Reformation was a western event with merely some ramifications in the eastern parts of Europe. This new series will present the latest in research based on the rich sources available in archives, libraries etc. in Central and Eastern Europe.
