Jewish Thinkers on the Problem of Individuation

How does a non-extended soul distinguish itself from another? Should this happen through the soul’s association with an extended body, how can the soul remain individuated after the death of its body? Given its philosophical, theological, and ethical ramifications, the problem of individuation has been one of the key aspects of the medieval “body-soul problem”. The talk looks at inquiries and original suggestions from medieval Jewish thinkers in the Islamicate World.
