Meet Aneke Dornbusch (Bonn), winner of the REFORC Paper Award 2023, and learn what insights she gained from using Social Network Analysis.
Using the tool while doing research on the so-called radical Ludwig Hätzer (1500-1529), even with a relatively small data set, allowed her to visualize his network. Aneke discovered that there were two important networks around Hätzer on two different levels: theologians (individuals) and cities.
As Aneke says: “Using the tool was not only helpful to get new ideas, but also for science communication, because a nice visualization is much more accessible than text to communicate your science.”
