New REFORC Book Series Presented in Prešov

Today in Prešov, Ulrich Wien (Landau) presented the new REFORC series “Studies of Early Modern Christianity in Central Europe”, published by De Gruyter.

The new series is in line with REFORC’s ambition to promote and support research into the Reformation in Eastern Europe. REFORC’s director Herman Selderhuis on the new series: “The rich history of Early Modern Christianity in Eastern Europe deserves such a prestigious series! It is a reward for the onging efforts of Ulrich Wien promoting research in this region.”

Volumes

Publications in the series Studies of Early Modern Christianity in Central Europe will explore the long, complex and fascinating history of Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Baltic States, Ukraine, Balkans) which has recently gained more interest than ever. They will present the latest in research, based on the rich sources available in archives, libraries etc. in Central and Eastern Europe. Volume 1 is forthcoming, volume 2 on Initia Reformationis Transsilvaniae. Vielfalt, Aufbrüche, Rezeptionsräume in der Frühen Neuzeit was published (open access and print). More volumes are expected, following the planned conferences, as well as a handbook on István Báthory, Prince of Transylvania and King of Poland, to whom three conferences have previously been dedicated.

Editors

Editors of the new series are Angela Ilić, Zsombor Tóth  and Ulrich Andreas Wien.
